SAINt JHN’s “Roses” was released by the Brooklyn rapper/songwriter in 2016, but the remix that’s gone viral on TikTok just came out in 2019. Nineteen-year-old Kazakh producer Imanbek took Saint Jhn’s slow-moving, hypnotic rap and turned it into a bouncy, high-pitched banger.

In a recent interview with NPR, Soundbite of BENEE said [on TikTok fame] “My little brother is 17. He kind of gave me, like, the inside scoop on who the big TikTok stars are. You know, he talked about this girl called Charli D'Amelio and was like, this girl gets millions and millions of views. And everyone is obsessed. And they just go viral. And I was like, what? I don't quite understand it -- But I used to watch this girl called Emma Chamberlain when I was a bit younger on YouTube. And she did the dance. And J.Lo did the dance. And I was like, oh, my gosh. What is happening right now?!”
K Camp - Lottery/Renegade
There perhaps hasn't been a TikTok dance as viral or as controversial as The Renegade. The dance itself was originally created by Atlanta teen, Jalaiah Harmon, and then subsequently replicated by seemingly everyone in the world... often without credit.
That all changed when K Camp caught wind of Jalaiah’s efforts, taking to Twitter in order to clear the air. “Thank you Jalaiah and Skylar for helping make lottery the BIGGEST song in the world. Tell the blogs eat it up!” he wrote.
