Netflix has a new smash-hit on their hands with Wednesday! This should come as no surprise with brilliant minds like Tim Burton behind the creative endeavor. In it, Jenna Ortega stars as Wednesday Addams, and brings new life to the old classic.
If you haven’t watched it yet, we won’t spoil too much, but we do want to draw attention to the incredibly quirky self-choreographed dance number found in episode 4. Performed by Jenna herself, the quirky, engaging routine has caught the attention of users all over social media.
Creators like McKenzi Brooke, Emily Meding, and Selin Red have all begun taking on the routine themselves!
While we were already impressed to read that Ortega choreographed AND performed the routine herself, we were really floored to find out she managed to do so whilst recovering from Covid-19!
During an interview with NME Magazine, Ortega revealed that she filmed one of the show’s most talked about scenes while battling COVID-19.
“Yeah, I woke up and – it’s weird, I never get sick and when I do it’s not very bad – I had the body aches. I felt like I’d been hit by a car and that a little goblin had been let loose in my throat and was scratching the walls of my esophagus. They were giving me medicine between takes because we were waiting on the positive result.”
